Choosing the right contractor.

Get A Free in Home Estimate

When choosing a contractor it can be very confusing. After all there are thousands of contractors. We all seem to sell the same products, we all have the same certificates, we all seem to have the same pitch, we all have great ratings and reviews, we all have a satisfied customer list, most are licensed, bonded and insured and we even use some of the same subcontractors at times, so what is the difference.
To make the right choice you have to ask potential contractors a few very important questions.
1: Will they use plastic pipe boots on soil pipes that rot out and cause leaks in a few years? House mechanics uses only lead pipe boots that never rot out
2: Will they use ice and water shield on the eaves and valleys or just in the valley only? House mechanics has a patent pending method for applying ice and water shield which will prevent leaks in spite of ice dams.
3: Ask if they will personally see to it that the rafter tails are clearly marked and the gutter hangers are installed into the rafter tails. If not, you may see your guttering coming loose in just a few short years.
4: Last and certainly not least, ask how long their workmanship warranty is? This will give you a really good idea of how confident they are that their way is the right way. In fact, you'll be lucky to get a warranty for more than two years and unfortunately minor leaks take 5-8 years before they are noticeable but cause major issues after the workmanship warranty expires.
House mechanics is a specialty contractor, we not only do the roof but we also do things beyond the roof such as siding, gutters, windows etc. which means we are a full service contractor.
If you have an insurance claim house mechanics is specially trained in insurance claims so we are able to negotiate with your insurance company better than other contractors.
At house mechanics we offer only permanent solutions and are able to give a transferable lifetime labor warranty at no extra cost. Nobody else in the industry does that.
House Mechanics,
“Our quality is proven by our transferable lifetime labor warranty.”

Our family has been serving hoosiers since 1939 and as we learned from our mistakes and experiences we have developed a patent pending application method to protect your house from leaks caused by over flowing gutters and ice dams.

No other contractor including "the local guy" in small towns can offer what we have developed.

Although we may not be your neighbor we have been serving hoosiers since 1939.

It's sad that on the street where I live most of my neighbors will not even let me even give them a price on the work they want done while others have left great reviews for our outstanding service. I guess for some I'm too local for and some others, in small towns maybe an hour away or so, I'm just not local enough.

While there is no imaginary line for local or not local ask your contractor one thing before you decide. "How long is your workmanship warranty?" You will then understand how confident they are that their way is the right way.

We have a knowledgeable staff, professional installers and proven application methods that will soon change the residential roofing industry. We are so confident in our methods that all the work we perform is backed by our lifetime labor warranty and it's tranferable should you sell your home. You will not find that any where else.

We carry general liability and workman’s compensation insurance for your protection and peace of mind. Whether you have big problems or small leaks – the certified professionals at House Mechanics can handle any roofing or remodeling project, large or small.

We’ve built a solid reputation on Quality since 1939 and "Our quality is proven by our transferable lifetime labor warranty!"
